Why mesh, specifically

A solid bag traps water and sand. A mesh bag lets both fall through and lets the contents dry. For swim teams, beach clubs, pool programs, sports equipment and wet gear, that single property outperforms every other feature. It also makes the bag very light, which helps on a shipping line for a large order.

What mesh cannot hold

Mesh does not hold small items and it offers no protection. Keys, phones, sand toys and anything smaller than the aperture will work their way out or through. Most styles pair the mesh body with a solid base or a lined pocket for exactly this reason; check that a style has one before you order for a program where recipients will carry valuables.

Printing on an open weave

You cannot screen print onto mesh: the ink passes through the holes. Decoration goes on a solid panel, a base band or a patch, so the usable imprint area is much smaller than the bag. Ask for the imprint area on the specific style rather than assuming it scales with size.

Venue use

Some venues accept mesh under a clear bag policy and some do not. If the bag is for a stadium program, confirm with the venue rather than assuming mesh qualifies.
