Why the tracer matters

Most recycled claims in promotional products rest on a supplier declaration and a certificate somewhere up the chain. AWARE embeds a physical tracer in the yarn, and that tracer can be detected in the finished product. If your procurement team or your sustainability report needs a claim that survives an audit, this is a materially stronger position than a percentage on a spec sheet.

What recycled cotton looks like in the hand

Recycled cotton is spun from garment cutting waste, so the fibers are shorter than virgin cotton and the yarn carries flecks of other colors. That is the recycled content showing through, and it is the honest visual signal that the claim is real. It also means recycled cotton is usually blended with a share of virgin cotton or polyester for tensile strength, and the finished fabric has a slightly softer, more open hand than a comparable virgin cotton tote. Tell your recipients this before you hand the bags out, because otherwise the flecks get reported as a fault.

Decoration

Screen printing, heat transfer, full-color digital and embroidery are all available depending on the style and weight. On the lighter 4 oz cotton, screen and transfer hold better than embroidery, which pulls the weave.
