The size rule you are designing around
Most major US venues converged on a clear bag no larger than 12" x 6" x 12", plus a small clutch. Sizes in this range cluster around that limit for a reason, and larger clear totes at 15" to 20" wide exist for venues, trade shows and workplaces with different rules.
Venue policies are set by the venue and they change. A bag being sold as stadium compliant does not guarantee entry to a specific arena on a specific night. Check the venue’s current published policy before you commit to a size on a large order, and if the bags are for a season ticket program, confirm with the club.
PVC, vinyl, TPU and EVA
PVC and vinyl are the traditional clear materials: stiff, glossy, inexpensive, and they hold a box shape. They can yellow with long UV exposure and they stiffen in cold weather. TPU and EVA are more flexible, stay clearer for longer, and are usually described as phthalate-free, which matters for schools and youth programs. EVA in particular handles cold better without cracking.
Printing on a transparent bag
Screen printing is standard. The thing to plan for is that your logo sits over whatever the recipient puts in the bag, so a fine-detail mark or thin reversed type disappears against a busy background. Solid shapes and bold lettering survive. A white underbase behind a colored logo keeps it legible and is worth the extra screen. On the trim panels of a clear tote you can also apply heat transfer for a full-color mark on an opaque surface.
Mesh as an alternative
Some venues accept mesh as well as clear. Mesh breathes, drains and is lighter, which suits pool, beach and sports programs. It is not as easy to see into as a clear panel, so confirm it qualifies before ordering.
